As of 30 October, there are 26 unallocated substance and maladministration cases which is a decrease of 3 from last month. It is taking 9 months to allocate a case to an investigator which is a slight improvement from last month but we still have a long way to go to deliver a timely service.
There is no delay in processing applications for referrals, admissibility reviews or undue delay investigations.
Staff are still working remotely due to Government guidelines on COVID-19. However, they are able to respond to queries by email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Alternatively, you can call and leave a message on our phone and a member of the team will ring you back. The time limits for making an application to the Ombudsman are set out in legislation and so still apply. If you are thinking about making an application to SCOAF we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.
