The latest update on our allocation backlog

As of 20 March 2019, we have 146 unallocated substance and maladministration cases, this is an increase of four cases since last month. Our oldest unallocated case was received in January 2018. Despite our backlog, we encourage you to make an application to us if you believe there was something wrong with the way one of the Services handled your complaint and/or you believe an incorrect decision was made.

A new temporary Senior Investigator is due to start work with us from 1 April.

The review of our internal processes has now concluded and we are working on implementing the recommendations to improve our efficiency. This will take a little time to achieve but we hope to see some improvements in the backlog as a result.
