As of 30 November 2020, there are 24 unallocated substance and maladministration cases which is a decrease of 2 from last month. It is now taking 6 months to allocate a case to an investigator. This is an improvement but still not where we want to be.

This is an improvement but still not where we want to be. Sadly one of our Senior Investigators has left to take on a new job opportunity and with such a small team this will have an impact until we are able to recruit a replacement.
There are no delays in processing applications for referrals, admissibility reviews or undue delay investigations.
SCOAF staff are still working remotely due to COVID-19 guidelines and have limited access to the office and so there will be a delay in us receiving anything sent by post. The time limits for making an application to the Ombudsman are set by legislation and so if you are considering making an application you need to do so as soon as possible.
