We are recruiting!

After recently appointing a new Head of Investigations and Senior Investigator, recruitment is continuing to fill the outstanding vacancies in our Investigations Team.

We are currently recruiting for 2 x Investigators. These are HEO level posts and they are currently live on Civil Service Jobs and will be on the Ombudsman Association jobs page soon. In addition, applications have recently closed for 3 x fixed term Senior Investigators. Both of these recruitment campaigns were opened to applicants outside the civil service. This opens them up to individuals who have experience in complaint handling with other Ombuds Institutions and similar organisations. We have already noted that a higher number of applications were received for our fixed term investigators than for previous recruitment campaigns that were restricted to existing civil servants. This will help us to not only fill the vacancies, but ensure that we are selecting the right people for the job, as we have always done.

Getting our Investigations Team operating at full capacity is a top priority for our office. We recognise that the delays in allocating and resolving matters due to our current staff shortages has been, and continues to be, frustrating for those complainants affected by it. Please be assured we are doing everything we can to resolve this.

We will continue to provide updates about the current delays through our website and Twitter feed. The Ombudsman will also provide a monthly update on this issue until such time as it is resolved.
